In Sarane Lecompte's work boundaries between drawing, photography, video, theater, dance, writing and the art of the interview are deliberately blurred in an investigation of the idiosyncrasy of language and the unreliability of words: Since our need to communicate is as fundamental as our feeling of vulnerability in the world, we create language.

[poLoP] was created in 2005 in order to contain personal works and works in collaboration with others. [poLoP] creates its own vocabulary of switches, inversions and playful games revealing an intimate world in drawings, sounds, repetitions, absurdity and sublime stupidity.

Witness accounts state that 'polop' was first uttered in 1975 in an interaction between myself and a dog. It’s still unclear whether it was an insult or a declaration of love
